Web design for Surrey childcare

Website Design for Childcare Centres in Surrey

Surrey is the fastest-growing large city in British Columbia and it has the thinnest designated $10 a Day coverage in Metro Vancouver relative to its size. Around 703,000 people, up nearly 24 percent since 2021, spread across six very different communities. Parents in Fleetwood and Newton are looking at reduced-fee spaces that mostly do not exist yet in their area. That gap is the single most useful thing your website can speak to.

What a Surrey Website Needs

Twenty designated centres

Roughly 20 of BC's 368 designated $10 a Day centres are in Surrey, against a city of 700,000. Showing your status answers the first question.

Six official communities

Fleetwood, Newton, Cloverdale, Guildford, South Surrey and Whalley are different markets. Write for the two or three you genuinely serve.

Fraser Health licensing

Surrey sits under Fraser Health, not Vancouver Coastal Health. Name your licensing authority and publish your licence details.

Published fee arithmetic

Reductions reach $900 a month for under-36-months in group care. Show your rate and the reduction side by side.

Waitlist by age group

Publishing waitlist length converts better than hiding it, and screens out the enquiries that were never realistic.

Commute-aware hours

Many Surrey families cross the river for work. State hours and booking lead time up front so the right families self-select.

Your website is the first tour most Surrey families take

Before anyone calls, most families have already walked your website on a phone, usually at night, usually between a commute and a bedtime. They are checking three things: whether you are close to them, what you actually charge, and whether there is a spot for their child. A site built for that job answers those questions quietly, without making anyone email you for basic information.

01

Lead with the shortage, because parents already know about it

Roughly a hundred designated $10 a Day centres serve British Columbia, and only about twenty are in Surrey. Across a city of more than 700,000 that is a fraction of what families here need, and the province's own Budget 2026 paused new providers from joining the program for three years while it stabilizes. The gap will not close on its own. A Surrey centre that is a designated location is genuinely valuable, and a Surrey centre that is not should be straightforward about it rather than vague.

02

Treat the six communities as six different searches

Surrey officially recognizes Cloverdale, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, South Surrey and Whalley City Centre, and they do not compete with each other. Fleetwood and Newton have large established family populations and confirmed preschool and childminding infrastructure at municipal recreation centres. Grandview Heights and South Surrey are the affluent end. Cloverdale and Guildford sit at the edge of the Fraser Valley. A page that speaks to all six at once reads as generic to every one of them. Pick the two or three you genuinely serve and write for those.

03

Get the Fraser Health distinction right

Surrey child care is licensed by Fraser Health, not Vancouver Coastal Health, under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and the Child Care Licensing Regulation. The City of Surrey has been approving new child care capacity, including sites within existing single-family dwellings and a coming Metis child care facility at Bridgeview, so new centres are appearing across the city. Getting your licensing authority right on the site is a small detail that signals you actually operate here.

04

Publish the real fee, every day, in one place

Provincial reductions reach a maximum of nine hundred dollars a month for a child under thirty-six months in group care, and five hundred and forty-five dollars for three-year-olds through kindergarten. Families are applying these to your published rate and working out their own number. Show your weekly rate, your daily rate, what the provincial reduction takes off, and what it does not cover, because optional and extraneous fees are not reduced. Doing that arithmetic transparently is the most persuasive thing a Surrey childcare site can do.

05

Be honest about your waitlist before you are asked

With supply this constrained, a waitlist is normal, not a weakness. Publishing the current length of your waitlist by age group, and whether it is moving, converts better than hiding it, because a parent who knows they are six months out will still start the process, while a parent who discovers a year-long wait after enrolling will feel misled. It also screens out the enquiries that were never realistic.

06

Build for a commute, not a suburb stereotype

A large share of Surrey families cross the Fraser River for work, and the SkyTrain and Highway 99 corridors shape which hours are actually usable. State your opening time, your closure days, and how far ahead you need parents to book. Families will self-select out if your hours do not work, which is the right outcome, and they will enrol faster if they know the answer on the first screen.

Six communities, six very different families

A parent in Fleetwood and a parent in Grandview Heights are not looking for the same thing, and a page written to please both will please neither. Fleetwood and Newton have large established family populations and municipal preschool infrastructure. Grandview Heights and South Surrey are the affluent end. Naming the communities you actually serve brings in families who can genuinely enrol, and being honest about your limits filters out the drive-by enquiries that were never going to convert.

Website Design For Surrey Childcare Centres

01

Honest Assessment First

We start by telling you whether a redesign is right, or whether a smaller fix would serve you better. A new site is not always the answer.

02

Surrey-Ready Build

A site built around the questions Surrey parents actually ask: fees, neighborhoods, licensing and waitlists, answered plainly and verified against current sources.

03

Built to Fill Spaces

Mobile-first, fast, and structured around enrollment. Real local content, not a template with your logo on it.

Planning a new website for your Surrey centre, or stuck with one that is not filling spaces? Get in touch and we will tell you honestly what we would do first.
